Brandon Jenkins @ Country Fever
Oklahoma native and singer-songwriter Brandon Jenkins started the day off on Friday in Pryor Oklahoma not far from where he grew up in Tulsa. The man responsible for writing or co-writing songs like "Down in Flames" covered by Stoney Larue and "Finger on the Trigger' by Bleu Edmondson has been working on new songs and he debuted two new ones in Pryor. Looking like a guy that you would not want to piss off with his bald head and red beard and tattoos down each arm he seemed to be intimidating on stage but looked very relaxed and happy to be there doing what he does best. One of his new songs "Blood for Oil" he stated before hand that it was of timely relevence to the people currently living in Oklahoma which is known for its supply of crude oil. Ripping through his current release "Faster than a Stone" i was suprised by the powerful sound his three piece band produces. the new songs make me think his next cd will be his best yet.
